There is a fair amount of demand for these components. These components are almost exclusively used to craft damage enhancers. In fact the complete list of blueprints that use this component is as follows:

Not very many people have the skills to craft damage enhancers. The players that do have the skills cause the price to fluctuate greatly. When they want to gamble on crafting the price goes up. If they are crafting to make PED the price goes down.
Circle of Life
This is a great example of the circle of life in Entropia. Output Amplifier Components are used to craft Weapon Damage Enhancers. Weapon Damage Enhancers are used to compete in Mayhem. Looting Mayhem creatures is likely to result in obtaining Output Amplifier Components.
This sis one of the clearest cycles in Entropia. Virtually all resources act in this manner. In this case it’s just easier to see.
